During lectures and meetings, some people ask us this question: “Are you yourselves allergic? Is this why you produce only allergen-free detergents and creams?” Usually our answer makes them wonder: apart from allergy to dust mites, we are not allergic to any chemicals. But we have been reading up and we realized that allergies to many detergents and cosmetics ingredients are more and more diffused. In addition, such ingredients are tipically spread through natural products.
We interviewed a university teacher of Allergology and some allergists, who confirmed that often allergies reveal themselves throughout life; indeed, it is quite common that people, who for long time used products containing an allergen, after a certain point start to show hypersensitization against the allergen. It depends on a number of factors: predisposition, immune system condition…
We realized that becoming allergic is really undesirable: it is unrecommended to use even very low amounts of that chemical, or health problems may be too serious (up to anaphylactic shock), and sincerely this is a thing that we would not wish to anyone.
Our main purpose is to make useful and not harmful detergents and creams, that’s why we talk about “sustainable wellness”. Both Bensos and Benè products do not contain allergens.
